Electrical measurements: Devices

Licomet focuses on electrical measurements of CCFLs, offering CCFL measurement and Plasma discharge simulation.

Our laboratory is focused on electrical characterization of light sources like cold cathode fluorescent lamps or light emitting diodes. We are able to provide comprehensive efficiency measurements and relationship charts between optical and electrical parameters coherently in time.

A 6 kV/4 rk V 20 mA CFL characteristic tester is integrated device to drive and simulate lamp conditions. The system includes a power supply (0 to 6 kVrms / 4 kVrms, 20 mArms), a voltmeter for measuring the output voltage, another voltmeter for measuring the voltage (lamp voltage Vl) between CFL terminals, and an ammeter for measuring the current (lamp current Il) that flows through CCFL.

The CCFL Characteristic Tester
measurement range includes:
  • Frequency setting range of 25 kHz to 130 kHz:
  • Output voltage Vo – Voltage value that includes all voltage applied to CCFLs and ballast capacitor
  • Lamp current Il – Current flowing to CCFLs
  • Lamp voltage Vl – Voltage applied to the lamp
  • Discharge Start voltage Vds – Maximum value of lamp voltage Vl while CCFL converts corona discharge to glow discharge
  • Ids level – Lamp current Il level to be set when measuring discharge start voltage Vds
